Days 8–14 of the U.S.-Israeli War on Iran and Lebanon

As the war enters its second week, the conflict continued to expand across the region.

Strikes intensified inside Iran, retaliation widened across multiple countries, and global markets began reacting to the growing threat to energy infrastructure and shipping routes.

Here are the key developments from the past week.

Escalation of Strikes Inside Iran

U.S. and Israeli forces significantly expanded their strikes across Iran.

Israeli jets conducted major strikes in Tehran, including attacks near Mehrabad International Airport and Imam Hussein University.

Oil refineries and storage facilities in Tehran and Alborz were targeted, marking the first major attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure.

• A U.S. missile strike hit a freshwater desalination plant on Qeshm Island, a facility that supplies drinking water to roughly 30 villages.

• Additional strikes hit Bank Sepah buildings and residential areas in Tehran and Arak.

• Iranian authorities say more than 1,300 people have been killed and over 17,000 wounded since the war began.

Iranian Retaliation Across the Region

Iran continued launching waves of missiles and drones targeting Israeli and U.S. positions.

• Iranian missiles struck multiple locations in central Israel, triggering air raid sirens across Tel Aviv and other cities.

• Iran also targeted U.S. military bases across the Gulf, including facilities in Bahrain, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

• Iranian forces warned ships not to enter the Strait of Hormuz, striking vessels that ignored the warnings.

• Iran has continued launching new waves of retaliatory drone and missile attacks throughout the week.

Lebanon Front Intensifies

The war has continued to spill into Lebanon.

Israeli airstrikes hit Beirut’s southern suburbs, south Lebanon, and the Bekaa Valley, including strikes on densely populated areas.

• Lebanese authorities say the death toll from Israeli strikes has risen to at least 773, with hundreds of thousands displaced.

Hezbollah launched multiple rocket barrages toward northern Israel, including the Galilee and Haifa region.

Leadership and Political Developments

Major political developments unfolded inside Iran.

• Iran’s Assembly of Experts named Mojtaba Khamenei as the country’s new Supreme Leader, following the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei earlier in the war.

• Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu demanded Iran’s surrender and threatened further escalation.

Iran’s leadership has vowed to continue fighting until there is a permanent end to the war.

Growing Regional and Global Impact

The war is now producing global consequences.

Oil prices surged sharply amid fears of supply disruptions, briefly rising above $120 per barrel during the week.

• International agencies approved the release of hundreds of millions of barrels of emergency oil reserves to stabilize markets.

• Russia is reportedly providing satellite intelligence to Iran to track U.S. military movements.

• U.S. officials confirmed 140 American troops have been wounded during the first phase of the war.

Quds Day Strikes in Tehran

The week ended with explosions in Tehran during the annual International Quds Day rally, an event initiated by Imam Khomeini to express support for Palestine.

• U.S. and Israeli strikes hit areas near the gathering in Revolution Square.

• At least one person was killed and several buildings were damaged during the attacks.

• Despite the strikes, large crowds remained at the rally, waving Iranian flags and chanting in defiance.

Former U.S. Marine Corps Intelligence Officer and UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter joins TMJ News to discuss the military realities behind the headlines. Why Wahhabi Clerics Stand Against Iran and Reject Islamic Unity

Most people have never been told how Wahhabism, a once marginal religious movement, became the official ideology of the Saudi state, shaping mosques, schools, and media across the Muslim world. Few are aware of how it labels Shias as heretics, rejects centuries of Sunni jurisprudence, and turns religion into a tool for political power. Few understand how its alliance with the Al-Saud family allowed it to survive, expand, and influence global politics, aligning with regimes now positioned alongside Israel while opposing Iran and Shia communities. When such a central piece of modern Islamic history is left out of the conversation, it raises a deeper question: how much of what we think we know about Islam has been filtered, framed, or deliberately hidden?
