No Regrets

Dearest Reader,

In the last week of publishing a couple groundbreaking pieces, I realized something.

Our work truly has no end.

All humor aside, can we take a moment to appreciate some of the things TMJ cranked out this week? From a lengthy report on the LGBT agenda, to a memorial piece on Daniel Ellsberg’s Pentagon Papers that exposed lies sold to millions of Americans by the US government to cultivate public support for a war that killed over 58,000 US troops and 2 million Vietnamese civilians, and shortly after, the sad news of his death. This week has been truly something for the team to be proud of. We even published a piece on Shireen Abu Akleh, a correspondent many journalists including ourselves look up to. She pursued the truth fearlessly and gave the most important thing a person could give to this cause: her life.

Even though these larger pieces rarely go viral, they remind us of our true purpose as journalists. To speak the truth unequivocally and accurately, and to dig deep and chase the difficult stories.

Just as Ellsberg said, his only regret was not publishing the papers sooner. His words and legacy will never be forgotten.

Your Editor,

Zainabrights
