Inspired by ordinary moments

As you'll be hearing from me every other week now as we ramp up more content (a good thing, ofcourse), this just means that I'll have a lot more to say.

Let's start with the bad news. This week has been frustrating to say the least as we realized our posts on Instagram got shadowbanned. While our reels remain intact, the reach has been significantly capped for posts so our impact has not been as far reaching as we'd like. While it definitely got us down in the dumps, we are more motivated than ever to focus our efforts on growing TMJ on other platforms as we all know how unreliable social media can be.

In better news, we are getting close to the big 1K subscribers count on Youtube which is something we've been actively working towards growing. With Muslims of the Melting Pot and Blue Sofa Talks series that shine a light on human interest topics and For God and Country shorts that tackle current affairs in America through a God centric lens, there's a lot of variety for everyone.

Some things that I want to work on as Editor that I haven't quite disclosed internally are featuring more human interest shorts that highlight the talents in our communities. Whether it's HONY style posts, magazine style Exclusives, obituaries and memorials, the sky is the limit. What I do know is that there is so much goodness that is going untapped and we need good, soulful features that inspire us in our different journeys of life.

Here's to inspiration found in these ordinary moments.

Your editor,
