A household name
What’s Brewing?
Dear Reader,It was the year 2015 when I came across a video. I was sitting in my kitchen in Orlando with paper cut outs of the next book I was illustrating. The video was a young hijabi news anchor speaking about the atrocities in Yemen caused by the United States. It was the first time I heard about the blockade, the starvation my government was forcefully causing. I became curious. The next minute I know I was going down the rabbit hole in the deep dark web. My political spidey senses were tingling; perhaps it was then I should have known about my love for investigation. For the pursuit of the truth. For answers. This pursuit soon after led me down a path to go for my masters in journalism just as I had left the life of political science and homeland security behind to nestle into being a children's author and storyteller. But I was inspired by that woman who spoke the truth. And my entire life changed since then. Just a few weeks ago, this woman that I saw on the screen graced TMJ News studio with her presence. She sat right in front of me. I was looking into her eyes in person, not through the screen. How would I tell her that I was in this journey because of the fire she kindled? The truth we speak is not for ourselves only, it's for the world to find something within them and spring into unknown paths and territories to do something important.Stay on the look out for my interview with @mnar_mpn the founder and editor of Mint Press News, one of the leading independent media outlets in the United States. As the war front seems to be escalating in relation to the War on Gaza, and elections are right around the corner, our team knows that one things for sure. We are gearing up to be putting in more hours because soon, TMJ News is going to be a household name! Yours truly, Zainabrights
