The clash of worldviews...

Dearest Reader,

This week we published our series on the LGBT agenda with a guest host Mohamad for For God and Country. Who better than ‘That Muslim Guy’ to host this mini-series for the next month as he frequently talks about this on his page and has a great way of breaking it all down.

As I was editing the scripts and the sourcing for this series, I realized how far this issue goes. What we see today didn’t happen overnight, but was in the works for a very long time. I also understood what it meant to come from different worldviews; the identity we hold as God-centric people will clash at some point with those who do not submit to that higher power. One world view teaches that the ego and the desires are not to be given in to, and other teaches that in order to be happy one must pursue every desire and succumb to every pleasure.

It’s all going to come to a boiling point. The question is, are we there yet? Or are we to see more difficulties as the worldviews continue to clash? Will the children face more pressure at schools, or young people in the workplace? Will our values be called outdated or old fashioned?

It is all this that Mohamad logically breaks down as we introduce this new mini-series into the world. And he does so eloquently.

The best part of journalism however, is that we give the public the information they need to know in order to make the best informed decision. Knowledge however rarely translates to action; a lot of us know a lot of things but that doesn’t mean we do anything about it. And as much as we as human beings are enticed to sway people one way over the other, our role is to give the best information in the best way we can. We are here to remove the blindfolds so prevalent in our society, ones that have craftily been put in place over time to lead us to where we are today.

Destroying something is easy, but building it back up? That’s the real stuff right there. And as the moral fiber of our society continues to self-destruct, it is the role of journalists to bring truth back on the map. And that we shall do.
