Here's to pushing boundaries...

What a heavy content week it's been! Seems like we leapt into content creation after Eid and it's been non-stop since.
Last week we ended the season for For God and Country shows with a bang! The Muslim Cowboy graced the last show with an inspiring journey and his pursuit for truth. It's been one of the most memorable conversations I've had and there were so many good snippets to choose from.
As we take a break from the shows, FGAC is exploring the world of shorts and talking about current issues from a God centric lens. But what a challenge!
We recently filmed a video on a resurfaced video of someone vomiting on Lady Gaga's bare chest, but there was a lot of controversy internally whether we should post it or not. On one hand, these current issues are the ones that are being circulated and talked about, and as journalists our job is to analyze such stories. But on the other hand, we are subjecting others to watch such harmful things that can quite literally burn the eyes, especially if they otherwise don't know anything about it.
The question that we asked ourselves was, are we okay with controversy? How far was TMJ willing to push the boundaries? We've settled with trying this new journey out, after much blurring especially of Lady Gaga's bare chest, whatever happens. The goal for For God and Country was always to bring the God centric together, and slowly we are getting towards that.
Muslims of the Melting Pot released episode 3 on Hollywood and the portrayal of Muslims. I found it interesting to hear a fresh perspective by a filmmaker and film enthusiast himself. I believe these perspectives are poignant and I'm glad TMJ is providing room for such voices to exist.
We have also brought on many new interns and this will ramp up our content production three fold. We are planning to release daily breaking news pieces and scale up on everything; the key for me as editor is to ensure:
Our quality is intact
Everything we post is factual and airtight
Look out for some crazy stories coming up ahead, and know that we took a lot of time deliberating on them on the back end.
