Dearest Reader, 

They say when it rains, it pours. 

This month is difficult to navigate for the God-centric living in the West. As we see Pride events being held, flags donned and apparel promoted, we realize that this celebration for a group’s sexuality is a systemic one pushed by some very powerful entities. 

Naturally, as journalists, this sparked our curiosity. We’ve seen a plethora of religious, mostly Christian, outlets reporting heavily on this; but what of the Muslim and minority communities? It seems as though this is the topic that no one is willing to touch with a ten foot pole. I mean, we all saw what happened to Shumirun Nessa for her video criticizing Jeffrey Marsh.

But the silence is deafening. And its repercussions are being experienced by the God-centric in various systems too big to stand up to, from school classrooms to workplaces. In a recent short video, I reacted to an incident between a Canadian school teacher and a Muslim student Mansur. It was unbelievable to witness such open humiliation, microaggressions and Islamophobic statements all made by someone in a position of power. This also made me wonder how many of these incidents go unnoticed daily, this one luckily being recorded by a student’s phone. 

To deal with this, we’ve chosen to spotlight this topic head on. While we’ve occasionally been gripped with fear, we thought who other than journalists are fit to question the big elephant in the room? In this spirit, we will be producing an entire report on the LGBT Agenda and the role of the government in pushing this top-down, as well as publishing an entire series breaking down this topic to the core. Guest Host Mohamad will be spearheading the episodes for For God and Country for the rest of the month where he will delve into the history of how LGBT started, worldview clashes, feminism, the modern transgender movement and so much more. We hope that our readers leave with an informed perspective on this great issue presently facing our nation and our future generations.

In just the past week, we’ve grown to 8.5k followers on Instagram and reached over 350k accounts in the last 30 days. This is an almost 2k uptick due to a few videos going viral. It is surreal to see how far our work really goes, and how humbling it all is when we realize the responsibility we bear on our shoulders. 

We’ve also been averaging 6-8 content pieces a day which is something to definitely be proud of. From breaking news stories, lengthy reports, shorter articles and videos of all sizes, TMJ News is evolving when it comes to content creation. 

The TMJ Team is especially reveling in the success of positive stories on our page highlighting achievements, good news and inspiration from our communities.  

Who said news must be all doom and gloom? Life is certainly not like this, so why should news be?
