What’s Brewing?

America is on fire. Almost every major city is burning with protests, historic paintings being slashed up of historical Zionist figures, disruptions happening to leading politicians as they give speeches, and Palestine is quickly gaining US public favor. But you wouldn't know these sentiments if you were following mainstream media, who seems to have a mass gag order on protests happening all over the US, especially among the military and veteran community. Student groups and young people are facing the greatest difficulties, seeing as they also could be the largest threat to the military industrial empire. Just this week, University of California Riverside chose to divest over a million dollars in student funds from companies linked to the Israeli government's policies in Occupied Palestine. As Congress mulls over banning TikTok (for now) and we inch closer to larger encroachments on the freedom of speech, it's more important than ever before to keep our eyes on the ball. In the hunger games style of throwing US aid in parachutes at the people of Gaza after bombing and destroying everything they had, it's just a matter of time that the people will have had enough and the US “Capitol” will be the one catching fire.

Netanyahu Approves Attack on Rafah 

Benjamin Netanyahu has approved plans for an attack on Rafah, the southernmost city in Gaza where more than 1 million displaced Palestinians have sought shelter. This is while even Israel’s allies have warned that such a move would constitute a “red line.” Meanwhile, Palestinians in Gaza are facing a looming famine after five months of Israel’s military campaign, and are in desperate need of humanitarian aid. And now, they are once again faced with the threat of another military offensive while they are most vulnerable.

The US would Lose Money if it Banned Tiktok

The House of Representatives has voted to ban TikTok over security concerns, but it’s unlikely that the US government would pass on all the money it’s making from the app. TikTok drove $14.7 billion in small-business owners’ revenue in 2023 and contributed $24.2 billion to US gross domestic product last year, according to a company report issued Wednesday. TikTok supports a minimum of 224,000 jobs in the United States, and small businesses’ use of the app as an advertising platform provided $5.3 billion in tax revenue to the US government last year alone. It seems a TikTok ban might not be the smartest business for the US after all.

McDonald’s Hit by Global “Tech Outage” 

McDonald’s restaurants in several countries including the UK, Japan, and Australia have been hit by a “technology outage,” but the fast food chain denies that it is a cybersecurity attack. The outage caused downed systems, dysfunctional self-ordering kiosks, and mobile phone orders that were not functioning. McDonald’s went out of its way to say the system collapse was due to unspecified IT changes, but many are already saying it’s related to the global BDS movement.

Muslim Leaders Refuse to Meet with White House Officials

Ahead of next week’s primary in Illinois, more than 40 Muslim, Palestinian and Arab-American leaders and groups in Chicago refused a meeting with White House officials over the US’s continued funding of Israel’s war on Gaza. In a letter to the White House, the leaders said, “We believe another meeting would only act to whitewash months of White House inaction followed by meek handouts. We are interested in serious action.” The refusal follows similar actions by Muslim and Arab-American groups throughout the nation who are furious with the government’s handling of the war.

What Else is Brewing?

• Something is definitely fishy here as the EU prepares to give Egypt $8 billion dollars in aid, supposedly for the “conflict” affecting the Egyptian economy. Could it be a sinister plan hatched to coax Egypt into taking refugees from Gaza? We’ll know soon enough. 

• This boss lady wasn’t messing around. South Africa’s Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor says that South African citizens who fought in Israel’s war on Gaza as mercenaries will be arrested upon arrival back home. 

• Talk about a headache for companies suffering heavy losses from boycotts globally. McDonald’s seems to be the latest casualty after losing  $7 billion in value within hours of announcing the effects of boycotts from Israel’s war on Gaza. 

• In the latest mysterious case, the whistleblower who outed Boeing’s discrepancies in a lawsuit against the company was found dead in his truck with “a self-inflicted gunshot wound” right before the third deposition. 

• There are some eerie similarities between what’s going on in Hollywood’s Hunger Games and the reality on ground in Gaza. Watch the latest video on aid parachutes failing to open and killing aid-seekers.

• The Iraqi Resistance warns that Resistance Axis operations are entering phase two as they ramp up their solidarity efforts with Gaza. The Iraqi Resistance struck the “tel aviv” Ben Gurion airport with drones. Least to say, this is a very critical time period for all parties involved.
