Nothing will go back to what it once was

What’s Brewing?

The US and UK struck Yemen a day after designating the Ansarallah as a terrorist group, striking Hodeidah, Sa'ada, Dhamar and Bayda cities. Of course, this is retaliation for their continued solidarity for Palestine and their economic maritime war that has caused financial strain on the western economy as well as raised shipping prices by 173%. Iran also struck terror bases in Pakistan, Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan and Syria, but mainstream media was quick to hyperbolize and spin quite a different narrative. The attacks on the terror bases, they say, are in retaliation to the Kerman terror attack on Iran claimed by ISIS, Israeli Mossad Headquarters in Erbil and terror attack on police units from a base in Pakistan. While Iran has suggested they are not interested in pursuing a regional war at this time, they have been running military exercises and unveiling new weapons this year. Analysts say that hitting these bases sends a message to key players that Iran has capabilities and will strike when necessary. This also demonstrates that while Iran has backed the Palestinian and Yemeni Resistance efforts, their operations and movements are being independently carried out by their own people as sovereign states. As the United States urges the Israeli Regime to wrap things up as pressure mounts here, it is yet to be seen when the ceasefire will be called and how many more will have suffered till then. What is conclusive, however, is that nothing will go back to what it once was.

The Israeli Regime Vows to Continue Fighting

As expected, even the international court of justice couldn’t get the Israeli occupation to stop its ongoing genocide of Palestinians. In fact, it seems Netanyahu has gotten more emboldened, vowing on Thursday to press on the fighting until the regime achieves its goals. He added that the Israeli offensive will take several long months, and that it “will not compromise on anything less than total victory over Hamas.” Meanwhile, 24,620 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes since October 7th, according to the Gaza health ministry’s latest figures, and the world continues to watch as an entire population is being wiped out in real-time – and under full international law protection.

Apple Becomes World’s Top Smartphone Seller

Samsung’s 12 years of dominance has officially ended. Apple has now taken over as the world’s top seller of smartphones, after iPhone sales hit 234.6 million last year, surpassing Samsung’s total of 226.6 million. Researchers linked Apple’s advance to the growing popularity of higher-end devices, largely attributed to their durability and features. Apple commanded a 20% market share in 2023, with Samsung coming in at 19.4%. The margins are pretty close, and this only means the two tech giants are about to fire up the competition more than ever before.

Famous Book Prize Winner used ChatGPT

Rie Kudan, winner of Japan's prestigious literary award, admitted on Wednesday that five percent of her latest futuristic novel was “quoted verbatim” from ChatGPT. Kudan said the generative AI tool had unlocked her potential – but also unlocked her loads of money after publishing a book that judges said was “almost flawless.” Social media skeptics called her work morally questionable, demanding her prize be revoked. But the legal and moral dilemmas facing the overuse of ChatGPT to create original content is far from over; some may even say this is just the beginning.

Internet Blackouts in Gaza Reek of Western Hypocrisy

From European MPs to American politicians and of course, the Israeli regime itself, Western leaders have always been the first to condemn internet restrictions during protests in Middle Eastern (West Asian) countries. But as the tables turn this time around, we see that the Israeli regime has imposed several series of telecommunications blackouts in Gaza since October 7th, and its Western allies have not batted an eyelash. As Palestinians suffer unfathomable human suffering, the internet has been the only way to gain access to them, and to find ways to deliver urgent humanitarian aid. But once again, the Israeli occupation has made internet outages in Gaza another weapon of war that seeks to erase their voices emanating from that land.

What Else is Brewing?

  • German officials have agreed to supply the Israeli regime with thousands of rounds of 120-millimeter precision ammunition. Now isn’t that something? Israel, who brings up “holocaust” and “antisemitism” is now being funded by Germany.

  • Manchester actionists stormed the BNY Mellon building and blocked the entrance to Elbit Systems, the largest Israeli weapons manufacturer. They quite literally attached themselves to each other and created an “immovable” roadblock.

  • In what is being called a dangerous move, Bahrainis defied their Al Khalifa government and took to the streets in solidarity with Gaza AND Yemen. We like to call it bold.

  • In the circus it usually is, Vivek Ramaswamy dropped out of the Presidential race and endorsed Donald Trump. It’s going to be an interesting year to say the least, when Americans are left with no good options.

  • Largest pro-Palestine march took place in Washington D.C. on Saturday, January 13 where more than 400,000 Americans demanded a ceasefire and an end to US-backed Israeli aggression on Gaza.

  • In a shocking turn of events, an Israeli mother has spoken out against the Israeli regime and the IDF, accusing them of gassing her son while he was being held in a tunnel. She said this act was like “Aushwitz and the showers,” making eerie comparisons to the Holocaust and even pointing out the “murder” was “not by H-a-m-a-s” but “this damned government.”
