Muslim Brew - 26th Jan

It will eat it from within

What’s Brewing?

Everyone has been holding their breath for today’s first ICJ ruling on the South Africa genocide case against the Israeli occupation. In short, the court ordered Israel to take all measures to prevent genocide in Gaza and allow humanitarian aid for Palestinians. The ICJ also ordered Israel to report on what it is doing to uphold the provisional measures presented. It did not, however, call for an official ceasefire in Gaza. This means that the Israeli regime can effectively continue its relentless violence — except this time it can also mock the ICJ while it’s at it. To clarify, while this initial ruling flat out told “Israel” to take “measures to prevent acts of genocide in Gaza” and to report back in a month’s time, as well as ordered Israel to allow humanitarian aid into the Strip, it did not order it to end its military operations in the Strip. This suggests that the United States is still presiding over the case despite the ICJ being deemed an independent body. If it is in American interests to indict Israel, it would be indicted, and until then, such a high profile case continues to run its course due to the mass condemnation globally. While many are grappling with the question, “what does it all mean,” there is simply nothing that this case can do in the political arena. It has, however, laid things out in the open as this is the first time the Israeli occupation entity has been accused in a world court, and that even by South Africa who has firsthand experience in Apartheid. Public perception for this issue is greatly shifting, and the Zionist entity continues to suffer a heavy blow to their credibility and likeability on the world stage, something they cannot come back from post-October 7th. This change in public perception, if nothing else, challenges Western interests and will eat it from within.

Yemenis Hit British Oil Vessel

Yemen’s Ansarallah confirm that they have struck Marlin Luanda, a British oil vessel in the Gulf of Aden. The oil vessel was last seen burning to the ground, or in this case, to the water. Interestingly, their maritime war has widened to target British ships as reprisal for the British led airstrikes in Yemen. Despite a myriad of threats and aggressions, Yemen seems undeterred with their plans.

Saudi Arabia Opens First Liquor Store

Talk about business. Saudi Arabia, home to Islam’s most sacred site, has opened its first liquor store in over 70 years in the capital of Riyadh. The shop is to exclusively serve non-Muslim diplomats who must register to buy alcohol in advance and get a clearance code from the Foreign Ministry. Local residents will not be served, and Saudi Arabia is using this as an excuse to say it is not rescinding the alcohol ban in place since 1951. We all knew it was a matter of time before the rich Saudi kings realized they were missing out on the liquor business, but we hoped the unfortunate moment would never arrive.

World’s First IVF Rhino Pregnancy Could Prevent Extinction

A test embryo was successfully implanted into a southern white rhinoceros as part of a project by an international group of scientists in Germany and the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research. The rhino died two months later from a bacterial infection while 16 months pregnant, but the successful implantation of the egg shows promise in advanced assisted reproduction technology in animals. This latest breakthrough in IVF research could pave a path for saving endangered species threatened by extinction, but it’s still uncharted territory that researchers are carefully treading on.

CIA Chief to Advance Gaza Hostage Deal

It’s never a good sign when the CIA is involved, but here we are. CIA Director William Burns and the head of the Israeli regime’s Mossad will be meeting with the Qatari prime minister in Europe this weekend as part of efforts to broker a hostage deal, and potentially a ceasefire. This is while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vehemently opposed a permanent ceasefire, and as Israeli strikes on Gaza have thus far killed more than 25,700 Palestinians. As Western leaders only now begin to show compassion and pose as mediators in front of the cameras, Gaza has been almost completely flattened to the ground.

What Else is Brewing?

  • Last year, an Egyptian journalist Rania al-Assal was kidnapped while on the Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, and taken to an unknown location. Her crime? She posted on her Twitter for one of the gate names to be changed. She was released this week.

  • Ever hear of a hit man that didn’t do his job right? That’s because he was hired for cheap labor. Alabama is bracing to carry out its first execution via nitrogen gas on a hit man hired by a husband  who had it out for his wife for a mere $1,000. When the deed was done and the hitman got caught, the husband ended his own life.

  • Firebrand journalist who exposed Israeli crimes in Gaza, Motaz Azaiza, evacuated to Qatar this week, citing his own reasons. He doesn’t need to explain himself to anyone, his business is his business but can we still know why?

  • Military vet Greg Stoker roasts the IDF in TMJ’s latest podcast, calling them a “trash conscript military.” Hilarious, sarcastic and eye-opening, to say the least.

  • Why wasn’t this all over the news, and more importantly, what has been done about it? We truly don’t expect much from the mainstream but when Americans get attacked on American soil, you’d think they’d be all over than one. Turns out, former IDF soldiers attacked students at Columbia University with deadly skunk water  who were participating in a peaceful Pro-Palestine protest.

What to Look Out For

On the Hard Truth, a Michigan trauma surgeon who recently returned from Gaza shares his experience. Stay tuned for the full interview coming out tomorrow.

Missed the full ICJ ruling on South Africa’s case? We got you covered. After tinkering with tech, TMJ livestreamed the ruling on our Youtube channel. Watch the final verdicts here to help you make sense of what happened.

An article will be published tonight on the whole Epstein scandal. Trust me, it was a lot for us to process too.

Can you solve this?

“I make two people out of one. What am I?”Reply with your guess. P.S: The answer to the last week’s riddle ‘What falls but never breaks, and what breaks but never falls?’ is ‘Day & Night’. Had you guessed it right?
